Job Description

Position: Open: 26 October 2009 Close: 16 November 2009 Location: Personal and Family Readiness Division, HQMC Family Readiness Branch (MRZ) 3280 Russell Road Quantico, VA 22134-5099

Type of Appointment: Regular Full-Time (35-40 hours per week)

Tour of Duty: Monday through Friday **Tour of duty may change based upon work requirements**

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as Program Specialist for Readiness and Deployment Support Training and programming to independently conduct, review and recommend approval or disapproval of program plans and materials; analyze and develop proposals or provisions in terms of impact on program resources requirements; develop new and revised operating procedures and standards to incorporate provisions that affect operating activities and requirements; conduct review of the administration and operation of the program, and provide advice.

Independently completes project studies and carries out onsite reviews of operation of the program to develop and revise guideline and training materials such as statements of policy and model operating procedures for use by agency officials, or other public organizations as guides to revise policies and procedures and develop program plans and proposals to meet federal requirements.

Obtains factual information to: provide information, explain regulatory and legal requirements, and negotiate agreements to correct inadequacies revealed in the evaluation process.

Maintains extensive contact with other program specialists and officials of other related agencies and organizations to: resolve problems, negotiate agreements, advise on and render technical assistance in areas such as: changes or improvements in program objectives, utilizing facilities and staff, redirecting programs to provide more efficient and effective service, developing new or revised curricula and programs for staff development, and developing and installing reporting systems.


Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Four years of knowledge and experience that demonstrates skill to independently conduct, review and recommend approval or disapproval of readiness and deployment support training program plans and materials; analyze and develop proposals or provisions in terms of impact on program resource requirements; develop new and revised operating procedures and standards to incorporate provisions that affect operating activities and requirements; conduct reviews of the administration and operation of the program, and provide advice.
